Quality starts with the materials and staff who use them. Our teams of builders have built hundreds of pools of all shapes and sizes. We work to the standards set out by our trade body SPATA. Safety is paramount from the regular inspections while building your pool ensuring the site and equipment are as safe as reasonably possible, to the fully trained staff who will look after the pool once it has been completed. All our work is warranted with the reassurance of SPATA backing the work should you ever need it. We only build a pool we can support and service. Meaning, every pool we built with the expectation that we will continue to be involved in it’s upkeep for the rest of the it’s life.

At Harlequin, our relationship with clients does not end when construction is complete. We provide comprehensive aftercare to ensure your new swimming pool continues to perform safely, efficiently, and beautifully for many years. Following handover, our engineers will guide you through the operation of heating, filtration, and control systems, giving you the confidence to manage day-to-day use.

Our dedicated service department offers regular maintenance programmes, seasonal opening and closing visits, equipment servicing, and water quality support. Should upgrades or adjustments be required in the future, we remain on hand with practical advice and trusted solutions. It was not an easy build given the clay ground but the team led by Mike overcame fairly major problems with excellent lasting results. The pool was carefully planned with several detailed visits in good time prior to the construction. There have been no significant issues since. Harlequin were quite content to only start the pool off each early summer and close it down in the autumn as I was keen to look after the general maintenance myself which takes an hour or two per week. They do however help out if needed at any time for incidental issues. We have been very pleased indeed with the function and quality of the pool. I can certainly recommend Harlequin if you are considering a new pool.

Some disturbance is inevitable, but our team is respectful, tidy, and careful to protect driveways, lawns, and existing landscaping. We handle waste removal and reinstatement.

How long does construction take?

A straightforward liner pool can take a few weeks from groundworks to handover, while a fully tiled concrete pool may take several months. We’ll provide a realistic schedule before work starts.

Do I need planning permission?

Most domestic pools don’t require planning permission, but we’ll confirm based on your property and location — especially if you’re in a conservation area or have a listed building.

How does the payment schedule work?

Payments are typically made in stages aligned with progress on site, with the balance due on completion. Everything is agreed in writing before construction begins.
